Vintage Protimeter Surveymaster Moisture Meter For Timber, Plaster & Brick

This interesting testing instrument is a Vintage Protimeter Surveymaster Moisture Meter For Timber, Plaster & Brick in its original case with instructions, probes and battery storage.

Approximate Case Size (WHD):  15.2 x 9 x  17.4 cm

Manufactured by Sir John Gallwey (Instruments) ltd, Marlow, Bucks, UK in the 1960s/70s. It is battery operated with the batteries housed externally in a bespoke cradle. The 2-prong probe is held against the test surface e.g. timber, brick or plaster and the moisture level read from the meter.

In very good condition, it hasn't been tested as the original B123 batteries supplied with the meter are, not surprisingly given their age, flat.

The instrument required three x 30v B123 (A413) Ever Ready Batteries which have contacts on each end. These batteries are obsolete but modern alkaline equivalents can be found.  NB: batteries will not be included due to the problems with shipping items containing batteries.
